Andrea Schmoll, Registered Dental Hygienist

Andrea Schmoll was born and raised in the Quinte area.  After attending TCS in Trenton, and ENSS in Brighton, she completed a three year Business Administration Diploma at Fleming College, specializing in Human Resources.  Andrea was immediately employed and managed a successful dental office in Trenton for three years.   Andrea decided to move to Ottawa and was offered a full time management position in a dental office and studied to complete her Dental Assisting Diploma after hours at Career Canada College.  Convinced that her dental education could only prosper, she was accepted at Algonquin College in the Dental Hygiene program.  She excelled and graduated in 2000.

Shortly after graduation, Andrea decided that it was time to move back to the Quinte area.  Andrea had a Dental Hygiene position waiting for her in Brighton, where she practiced  for eight years.  Andrea now has four wonderful children: Austen, Jadyn, Sophia and Helena.

Andrea’s dream was to own her own business.  When Bill 171, The Health Systems Improvement Act, was passed in 2007, the new regulation enabled Dental Hygienists to practice independently.  It was inevitable that Andrea would open a business.  Brighter Smiles Dental Hygiene Clinic was a project for an entire year prior to opening.  She is very proud of becoming one of the first 100 Dental Hygienists to practice independently in Ontario.

Jessica Tracey, Registered Dental Hygienist

Jessica Tracey  joined the team at Brighter Smiles Dental Hygiene Clinic in February 2019. She brings with her over twenty five years of experience in the dental field. She began her career as a level 2 dental assistant after graduating from the dental assisting program at Canadore College in 1998. After working as a dental assistant for three years in the Ottawa Valley area, she decided to return to school for dental hygiene and graduated from Confederation College in 2002. She has been practicing dental hygiene full time in the Bay of Quinte area ever since.

Jessica maintains a high standard of care for her clients by constantly educating herself through seminars, conferences, webinars or reading professional journals. She is passionate about staying current with the latest research in preventive oral health care and using that knowledge to provide her clients with the best care possible.

Jessica is committed to promoting and advancing the profession of dental hygiene. She was a member on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Dental Hygienist’s Association for 6 years.  As well, Jessica was a volunteer member of the Long Term Care Advisory Committee for the Ontario Dental Hygienist’s Association for 4 years.

Jessica is originally from Palmer Rapids,  Ontario. She currently resides in Belleville, Ontario with her husband, Steve, and their family. She has two children and a cat. When she is not working or volunteering, Jessica enjoys traveling, reading and cooking. Jessica and her husband are in the process of  building a cottage in the Ottawa Valley area.

Alyssa Couperus Registered Dental Hygienist

Alyssa Couperus, the newest member of the Brighter Smiles team, is joining the clinic in August 2021.

Alyssa was born and raised in the Quinte Area.  After graduating from Trenton High School, she went directly into her Dental Hygiene Program in Hamilton at the Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene.  Alyssa graduated with honours in 2006, and received her diploma in Dental Hygiene after successfully completing the National Dental Hygiene Board Exam.

Alyssa immediately returned to the Quinte area and has been practicing locally ever since. She resides in Frankford with her husband, Matt, and their two boys, Kohen and Easton.

Alyssa continues to educate herself through professional journals, seminars, and hands-on courses to stay current in this ever-changing profession in order to maintain a high standard of care for her clients.

Alyssa strives to make her clients feel comfortable and to play a role in their achievement of optimal oral health.

Brianne Moore, Office Manager

Brianne (Bre) grew up in the Burlington, Ontario and moved to the Quinte area in 1998. She completed a three year Business Diploma from Loyalist College with a specialization in Materials Management.

Bre is our Office Manager and organizes the entire clinic.  She is the first smile that you see when you walk in our door. 

Bre began working  dental offices in 2007 and we are extremely happy to have her join our clinic in January 2020.  

She lives in Castleton with hubby Duke, and children Carter and Taylor and their yellow lab Gus!

Bre enjoys cooking and baking, Zumba, road trips and taking photos (lots and lots of them!)
